Radio-Controlled Weather Console Selector

Atomic Clock Weather Station

Radio-Controlled Weather Console Selector

An Atomic Clock Weather Station is not a single product but four time-sync configurations of the same platform: DCF for mainland Europe, MSF for the United Kingdom, WWVB for North America, and a non-RC version for regions without a usable broadcast. This selector maps each signal to the C8553A bundle — a 7" True Black colour display receiving wind, rain and thermo-hygro data over 433 MHz from up to 100 m — so that a home weather station specification can be narrowed down before any quotation is requested.

RC True Black color display weather station with multi sensors
Time signal DCF / MSF / WWVB / non-RC, with DST Auto/Off
Display 7" True Black colour, 166 × 90 mm VA area
Radio link 433 MHz, up to 100 m from each sensor
In the bundle Wind, rain and 3-channel thermo-hygro sensors

Choose the Time Signal Before the Console

The radio clock is the part of the specification a buyer notices last and complains about first. Fix the destination market, and the signal setting, adaptor region and weekday language set follow from it.

Destination market Time-sync setting Mains adaptor in the box Buyer note
Mainland Europe DCF EU plug, DC 5V 600 mA Weekday names can be set to EN, FR, DE, ES, IT, NL, CZ or PL.
United Kingdom MSF UK plug, DC 5V 600 mA DST Auto/Off handles the seasonal clock change without a manual reset.
North America WWVB US plug, DC 5V 600 mA The “atomic clock” shelf term applies to this configuration.
No broadcast coverage Non-RC AU plug, DC 5V 1 A No radio time sync; the same sensor suite and DST Auto/Off settings remain.
Ordering decision: confirm the signal setting and adaptor region on the purchase order, because the console ships as one hardware platform with the time-sync mode and power supply fixed at configuration.

What Each Measurement Actually Delivers

Spec sheets list numbers; buyers need the reason behind the number. Each card pairs a confirmed capability with the decision it settles.

C3162A self-emptying rain gauge cup showing the tipping bucket mechanism

Rainfall in 0.254 mm steps

The C3162A is a cable-free gauge with an automatic self-emptying cup and a precision measuring cup at 0.01" (0.254 mm) resolution. The console reports rain rate, plus hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and total rainfall, with a six-day historical bar chart and past 12-hour and 24-hour rainfall levels.

Why it matters: a stated tip resolution is the figure retailers compare side by side, and optional bird spikes decide whether the funnel survives an exposed garden install.

C3165A wind vane and anemometer showing wind speed and direction sensors

Wind in 360° and 16 directions

Real-time and dominant wind direction are resolved to 360° and 16 directions, with up to five dominant directions recorded. Wind speed, 10-minute average wind speed and gust read out in mph, m/s, km/h or knots, with a Beaufort scale and wind speed level band.

Why it matters: dominant-direction history separates a console an enthusiast keeps from one that gets returned; the unit switch settles the imperial or metric market question.

C3163A thermo-hygro sensor with its 22 by 17 mm LCD display

Three selectable thermo channels

The C3163A is 3-channel selectable and carries its own LCD, so a reading can be checked at the sensor as well as on the console. The bundle includes one unit and the console supports up to three optional thermo-hygro sensors. Outdoor temperature, heat index, dew point and humidity show comfort indication and trend.

Why it matters: channel planning decides whether a listing offers a single-zone kit or a multi-room proposition with add-on sensors.

Console display area showing barometric pressure trend and weather forecast icons

Pressure trend and alerting

Barometric pressure reads as relative or absolute in hPa, inHg or mmHg with a trend indicator. Hi/Lo alerts cover indoor and channel temperature and humidity, hi alerts cover rain rate and wind speed, and a pressure change alert adds a flashing weather-alert indicator. A six-state forecast (sunny, slightly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy, snowy) completes the display.

Why it matters: alerting and forecast states are the visible features on a retail shelf, while relative-versus-absolute pressure is what a technical buyer checks first.

Memory and history carried by the same console

  • Max/Min memory for daily and since-reset records
  • Past 24-hourly rainfall, wind speed, average wind speed and gust records
  • Dual alarm clock with ice pre-alert (alarm 1 and CH1)
  • 8 weekday languages: EN, FR, DE, ES, IT, NL, CZ, PL

Match the Configuration to the Shelf

Four realistic programme profiles. Each one resolves to a signal setting, an adaptor region and a sensor decision that can be confirmed on a quotation.

1

EU retail bundle

Configuration
DCF time sync, EU plug at DC 5V 600 mA, weekday language switched per country listing.
Buyer decision
Which of the eight weekday languages the carton and quick-start guide must cover for a multi-country launch.
Confirm next
Signal setting, adaptor region and language mix on the order.
2

UK garden specialist

Configuration
MSF time sync, UK plug, C3162A rain gauge specified with optional bird spikes.
Buyer decision
Whether the install site is exposed enough to need bird spikes and a mounting height within the 100 m radio link.
Confirm next
Accessory requirement and sensor mounting guidance for the end user.
3

North America hobbyist

Configuration
WWVB time sync, US plug at DC 5V 600 mA, imperial readouts for rain (in/h, in) and pressure (inHg).
Buyer decision
How much of the “atomic clock” positioning the packaging carries, and which imperial units are set as factory default.
Confirm next
Default unit set and the WWVB configuration on the quotation.
4

Multi-zone or non-RC site

Configuration
Non-RC time setting with AU plug at DC 5V 1 A, plus up to three thermo-hygro sensors across rooms or zones.
Buyer decision
How many extra C3163A sensors to add to the bundle versus selling them as an accessory line.
Confirm next
Sensor add-on quantity and the adaptor region for the destination.

Build the Quotation Around Four Answers

Send the signal setting, adaptor region, sensor quantity and target market, and the reply can carry a matched configuration rather than a generic price list.

  • Time-sync configuration: DCF, MSF, WWVB or non-RC
  • Adaptor region: EU, UK, US or AU power supply
  • Sensor quantity: bundled C3165A, C3163A and C3162A plus optional thermo-hygro add-ons
  • Volume and delivery window for the purchase programme
